FLOURISH by being rooted in the Word of God and learning from a woman in a different stage in her walk with Jesus. It was, is, and always will be God's plan for us - for YOU.

FLOURISH is a year-long mentoring program created by Passion City Church that connects women everywhere in a curriculum-based mentoring relationship to encourage and challenge one another in their walks with Jesus. FLOURISH calls women to a higher standard of living following the commands in Titus 2:3-5, a God-filled life for the sake of the Gospel.

The book FLOURISH: A Mentoring Journey includes daily devotionals around six unique topics + training materials to guide you along the way. These resources anchor women as they step into this truth - filled journey through Scripture both as a mentor or a mentee.

THROUGHOUT YOUR FLOURISH JOURNEY YOU WILL:

Build relationship and community with a mentor or mentee at Apex Baptist Church.

Explore what Scripture says about identity, calling, gratitude, and other relevant topics.

Learn to wholeheartedly love and follow Jesus.

FLOURISH AS A MENTOR

We are grateful for your interest in becoming a mentor for the women participating in FLOURISH: A Mentoring Journey with Apex Baptist Church! Before you apply, we want to share some important details regarding the FLOURISH journey and what the commitment looks like.

A mentoring relationship is born when one woman confidently guides another in the process of viewing her life through the lens of Scripture, modeling a practical lifestyle that displays Jesus and His Gospel.

Why mentor?
Biblical Mentoring must always be informational, relational and transformational, and the Gospel helps us blend these three so beautifully! FLOURISH will equip mentors with the biblical framework that will help you carry out this call inspired by Titus 2:7. “In everything set them an example by doing what is good."

What is Flourish, A Mentoring Journey?

FLOURISH calls women to a higher standard of living following the commands in Titus 2:3-5, a God-filled life for the sake of the Gospel.

Who can use Flourish, A Mentoring Journey?

We encourage women in all stages and seasons of life who desire to strengthen their relationship with Jesus to engage with a FLOURISH mentoring journey. We believe it is best experienced by women 18 and older, always paired with a woman ahead of her in years and in her spiritual walk. With that truth in mind, everyone seeking mentorship as they choose to live a life rooted in the Word of God is encouraged to consider how FLOURISH can fit into their life.

Do I have to be mature in my walk to participate in Flourish?

All you need is a willingness to commit to the journey! That’s what FLOURISH is for — to help you grow in your walk with Jesus. Your mentor may not have all the answers, but she will open Scripture and walk with you as you gain a better understanding of who Jesus is. So, in other words, you need just the right amount of maturity to stick to your commitment and press on to see what God has in store for you through this opportunity!

What are the weekly/monthly requirements?

We suggest meetings take place monthly and include opportunities for mentors to connect with their mentees one-on-one as well as opportunities for women to gather as a group with their shared mentor.
We encourage women to build daily devotional time into their lives, spending time in the Word five days a week. Everything you need for the journey is provided in the FLOURISH curriculum, including your daily devotionals!

Do I get to pick my mentor?

For those participating in FLOURISH with Apex Baptist Church, we are very intentional with the matching process. We consider many factors to provide each mentee with the best mentor possible given her stage and season of life. We also consider geographic location.

Do you provide training for Mentors? 

The curriculum provides a full section exclusively meant to support mentors as they guide women through the program. For the program hosted at Apex Baptist Church, we invite mentors to in-person training sessions to better serve them in their role.

What curriculum do you use? Is it a book or study?

The FLOURISH curriculum was created by Passion City Church and is based on Scripture. Consisting of two volumes — Year One and Year Two — FLOURISH anchors women around six practical life topics, engaging them in both the Word and in each other’s lives. These topics are relevant to women everywhere and reflect our vision to help them grow into a life that matches the standards to which God calls us! Apex Baptist is currently implementing year one. 

Does everyone need their own Flourish book?

Both mentors and mentees will want their own dedicated copy of the curriculum in order to ensure the best experience with the program content and daily devotionals.

What is the cost of the book?

 If purchased through the Apex Baptist church office, the book will cost $20 by check or cash. The book can also be purchased through Amazon, Lifeway, Christianbook.com, or FlourishMentor.com. These sources will have their own pricing and shipping rates.
