In this text, we see the supreme sign of Jesus’ obedience to God and love for sinners. He suffers and dies for our sins and not His own thereby making a way for sinners to be welcomed back into relationship with a holy God. Mark depicts for us the central event of our faith and confirms for us that this is truly the Messiah who has come to offer His life as a ransom for many.
