Summary: In the David and Goliath narrative, the people of God are presented with an enemy they cannot defeat on their own. David, the Spirit-anointed King, steps in to deliver his people and crush their enemies head. David points us forward to his greater Son who would as the Spirit-anointed King stares down the accuser in the wilderness and then crushes his head at the Cross thereby giving victory over to His people.
