Love the Word

In the Parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus, Jesus highlights the seriousness and eternality of eternity, as well as the abuse of riches. This serves to highlight the seriousness of dealing with Jesus’ claims in this life. In order to respond to Jesus’ claims, you must know and believe what the Scriptures say about the gospel.

Luke 16:19-31

Lessons Learned from Jesus in this Story:

1) We cannot serve both God and money (V. 19-21)
2) Death and Judgment await us all regardless of our station in this life (V. 22-23)
3) The things we identify with in this life might be the very things that blind us to our need for repentance and grace (V. 22-23)
4) Jesus believes in a real Heaven and a real Hell and the eternality of them (V. 24-26)
5) We must believe, love, and trust the Scriptures because in them we find Eternal Life (V. 27-31)
