The love of money is a dreadful and dangerous evil. This text deals with those who “lay up treasure for themselves and are not rich toward God” (Luke 12:21). We must not live our lives as if God does not exist. God is honored by funnels and dishonored by sponges. We have an opportunity to be conduits of his blessing, not a dead end. Everything God has given He intends to be used for His glory.
James 5:1-6
